It’s Saturday in Athens!
We’re in the DIRTY SOUTH!
This weekend I drove out to watch UGA take on TN-Martin. Who tha fu*k is TN-Martin?? Turns out, it really didn’t matter.
Here is what does matter though. The first half was horrible & our starting QB, Carson Beck, didn’t look promising. But it was the first game of the season so I won’t give him too much hell. That being said, we did get to see 2 other QBs get some playing time. I’ll come back to them later.
Someone who did stand out was everyone’s favorite DAWG. The one and only, Brock Bowers. What a FREAKING BEAST! This dude came to play and I believe he will be the game changer for us this season.
Now let’s get to those 2 other Dawgs. Stockton & Vandagriff…
These guys put it all out on the field, and from the looks of it, these Dawgs were trying to make a statement.
Both Vandagriff & Stockton’s demeanor looked great.
Vandagriff’s first completion and touchdown came on back-to-back passes. He found a wide-open Oscar Delp for a 21-yard score after hitting Rara Thomas for a 56-yard connection that put us up 0-38.
Later in the game, UT-Martin ended up scoring on a bs TD pass. I still can’t believe after reviewing the play they ended up calling it a touchdown. That made the score 7-38.
We ended up following it up with a field goal by freshman kicker Peyton Woodring (7-41), Then Kyron Jones scored the first defensive touchdown of the season, snagging a 26-yard pick-six off a tipped pass.
Overall, i’ll say we ended up pulling it off in good ol’ UGA football fashion. Meaning they came out slow & ended up scoring more than expected in the second half.
Now that the first game is out of the way, boys, lets come out next weekend and kick the sh*t out of Ball State.
