My Nephew Smoked His First Deer This Past Weekend

Growing up, our family wasn't big into hunting. We would much rather spend our time playing sports than getting up early in the morning, freezing our butts off in the woods, hoping to kill a deer. We preferred to have more action going on.

However, if we had known that we were definitely going to see a monster that scores in the 170s+ (referring to the score of a deer), then our childhood might have been a little different.

I should also add that in order to see a deer that big, we probably would have needed to live anywhere other than Georgia. It's almost a mythical creature in these parts of the woods.

With that being said, I feel like as we get older, we're always looking for new hobbies. It's typically hitting the gym, golf, hunting, or all three.

Luckily, for my youngest nephew, he gets to experience all of these hobbies and more from his dad and uncles.

This past weekend was a big one for him. He killed his first deer!

At 10 years old, Kysen smoked his first deer with one shot, dropping her right in her tracks. The whole weekend, all he could talk about was his hunt and how he had to be up at 6 o’clock. The stories he told were priceless. These are the memories he will be able to share his whole life.

That is what hunting or any adventure is all about. It's about being able to provide food for your family and having interesting stories to share.
